The inclusive playground
Having been involved in park play for more than seventy years, we have observed over time how much the need to create playgrounds that are accessible and attractive to all has increased. At this point it was a matter of deciding whether to design games exclusively for differently abled people or to think of other solutions. The concept of inclusion was born from this very reasoning; in our view, children with disabilities should play together with able-bodied children, on the same play facilities, without being subjected to distinctions. Our modular combinations and individual games in this series meet the needs of children with reduced lower limb mobility, so they have wider platforms and accessible slopes, but they are not limited to this: abilities may be reduced for various causes (deafness, vision defects, autism, etc.), and our games have a number of accommodations to meet these special needs as well. More information and insights on this subject are available from our offices.
